Decide

Willow Creek Church is a place to belong. If you are a follower of Jesus Christ and desire to join our membership, we invite you to complete our straightforward membership process.

Membership for Adults

Adults interested in membership should complete 'Discover,' our membership seminar. This three-session class is taught on Sunday mornings at 9:00 AM, once a quarter. Pastors Greg and Drew will share our history, beliefs, vision, mission, and ministry, answering your specific questions along the way. Members of Willow Creek Church will host, providing light breakfast foods and helping you to feel right at home. Representatives from our leadership and staff will also stop by and introduce themselves.

After successful completion of Discover, interested attendees can schedule a membership interview with our elders. To register, contact Drew Taylor, Pastor of Care and Connections, directly.

Membership for Students (Grades 6-12)

Students (grades 6-12) interested in membership will complete a version of 'Discover' specifically designed for them, led by Joe Lucero, our Director of Student Ministries, and members of the Switch Student Ministries team. If you are interested in learning more, please contact the church office.

Membership for Children (Grades 5 and younger)

Children (typically in grades 4-5) ready to become communicant members of the church will meet with one of our ministry staff members for a preliminary interview. If appropriate, they will then complete a version of 'Discover' designed for them. Communicant members are those who have made a profession of faith in Christ, have been baptized, and have been admitted by the leaders of the church to the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper (communion). Contact the church office to learn more.

Baptism

Baptism is a sacrament of the New Testament, ordained by Jesus Christ, not only for the solemn admission of the party baptized into the visible Church; but also to be unto him a sign and seal of the covenant of grace, of his ingrafting into Christ, of regeneration, of remission of sins, and of his giving up unto God, through Jesus Christ, to walk in the newness of life. This sacrament is, by Christ’s own appointment, to be continued in His Church until the end of the world. (Westminster Confession of Faith, 28.1).

Except in extraordinary circumstances, Willow Creek Church conducts all baptisms during regularly scheduled worship services.

Infants and Children: Members of our church who would like to present their child or children for baptism should complete our baptism request form. Due to scheduled observance of the Lord's Supper, baptisms are not typically administered on the first Sunday of the month.

Adults: Those adults not previously baptized who desire to join Willow Creek Church may be baptized on the same day they take their membership vows before the congregation. Adults desiring to pursue baptism and membership should complete our 'Discover' seminar. To register, contact Drew Taylor, Pastor of Care and Connections, directly.
