Children's Ministry Spotlight: Christy Allen

We have so many outstanding people who volunteer in our children's ministry. We feel it is important to highlight a few of them.

Christy Allen and her husband Jesse are involved in so many ministries of Willow Creek Church that to try to identify them in one particular area of WCC would be a disservice. The Allen's, along with their children Dillon and Gemma, have attended WCC since 2008, and serve in a variety of areas including the cafe ministry, men's ministry, MOPS, and Walking Tall Security.

Christy is mentioned as an outstanding children's ministry team member for her service in front of children, (Vacation Bible School) as well as her work behind the scenes. Each week, Christy volunteers her time in various ways. She helps me stay organized with our ever-growing children's ministry, doing several administrative tasks and also serves as a children's ministry creative consultant, coming up with many great ideas like crafts, decorations, and better ways to organize events. She really is skilled in a variety of fields!

Christy has found that being a wife and mother of 2 beautiful children has allowed her to find creative outlets within the church, and we could not be more excited to have her. She helped contribute to an outstanding service project for our Vacation Bible School this year, coming up with gifts for children in area hospitals as well a t-shirt and gifts for the children to design and give to our sponsored child from Bangladesh, Van Nun.

The Allen's care deeply about people, even beyond the confines of church on Sunday morning. Having been invited to their home several times, I see Jesse and Christy as two people who love God, love each other, and are committed to doing life together with others. They are very honest and sincere in regards to who they are, and have a desire to pour into our church family.

Christy is a phenomenal person and a very valuable piece of our children's ministry. We are so very blessed to have her and Jesse as a part of our church family. Thank you so much for your faithful service to Willow Creek Church and for loving our Lord, each other, your children, and our church family so well!
