Member Highlight: Jim & Nanci Irwin

Jim & Nanci Irwin are two of the most popular people at Willow Creek Church! You might know them in multiple capacities from serving as leaders of SALT, serving in our community, being involved in the Mischuck small group, Jim serving around the church grounds, Nanci singing in an ensemble... the list of involvement only goes on from there. But I know Jim & Nanci as friends, mentors, and individuals who love Jesus very much. They have been faithful attendees and members of Willow Creek Church for close to 15 years!

The Irwin's are two of the most "real" people at Willow Creek Church. They don't pretend to be anyone other than themselves. Jim regularly mentions that he asks a lot of questions to both "stir the pot" and because "I just don't know the answer." Nanci plays well off of Jim, often serving as the strong and steady hand to Jim's goofball antics. Both Jim & Nanci love each other, their children and grandchildren, as well as the church.

It is primarily in SALT (Seniors Approaching Life Together) that we know Jim & Nanci, having taken over the leadership reigns from Paul & Faye Tambrino roughly 3 years ago. Jim & Nanci made it their mission to help our seniors feel "connected" and have done a wonderful job of this by providing "ice breakers," social outings, special meals and celebrations, enacting a SALTIES Facebook group, and more! Jim is particularly adept at making the members of SALT laugh with his "corny" jokes that he loves to tell.

During the Covid pandemic, The Irwin's have gone above and beyond in serving our church by visiting our most vulnerable members, providing regular email, phone, and Facebook check-ins, highlighted by a car parade around the church campus.

Thank you so much Jim & Nanci Irwin for your love and care for Willow Creek Church! We are proud of you!
