Small Group Spotlight: Juarbe & McQuinn
At Willow Creek Church, we are dedicated to offering vibrant small groups. Our definition of a small group is a voluntary, intentional gathering, of a limited group that meets regularly, with the shared goal of Christian edification, fellowship, and service."
Michael & Julissa Juarbe are familiar faces at Willow Creek Church. You may have seen Michael playing guitar with the worship team during Sunday morning worship. Julissa is most likely seen serving in our children's preschool ministry. The Juarbe's, who moved from New York several years ago, have a heart for Oviedo, and a passion for small group community. They (including children Caleb & Eliana), serve as core leaders of our newest small groups.
Matt & Rachelle McQuinn are relatively new attenders to Willow Creek Church but maintain a deep fervor of being in community and learning more about God and his word. Matt is musically inclined and also serves on the worship and technical teams. Rachelle is a dutiful wife and mother, and brings a warmth to all she encounters. They recently purchased a home in a nearby neighborhood to Willow Creek Church and love being hospitable along with their 3 children (Ethan, Madelyn, Sylvia).
These two couples began meeting in February along with 3 other young families from Willow Creek Church. They are currently reading scripture that goes along with the Easter story. Michael & Matt have a passion for teaching and helping facilitate worship. We are so proud of this new small group and the hearts of the Juarbe & McQuinn families. May God bless this small group for years to come!
3 Pillars of Small Groups:
1. Each Small Group meets regularly, with individuals intentionally gathering together either in the church or in group member's homes.
2. Each Small Group shares the goal of growing in discipleship and Christian edification. This is done primarily through Prayer, Bible Study, personal discussion, confession of sin and singing songs of praise.
3. Each Small Group serves its community. This is done through participation in service projects, seeking to "reach out" to neighbors, participating in community events and more.
