Hi WCC Family!

This Sunday we will be celebrating the second week of Advent. If you're unfamiliar with the word "advent," it literally means "the arrival of a notable person." Therefore, to celebrate "Advent" in church is to celebrate the arrival of our Lord and Savior, Jesus- when he came as a baby, born miraculously by the virgin Mary, and fulfilling the centuries old prophecies of His arrival.

She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”” (Matthew 1:21, ESV)

This month most of our song choices will be Christmas Carols.  One of them this week is Joy to the World- by Isaac Watts (1719). I love that this song proclaims the earthly Kingship of Jesus. My favorite lyric of the song goes like this:

No more let sins and sorrows grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He comes to make his blessings flow
Far as the curse is found!
Far as the curse is found!
Far as . . . far as . . . the curse is found!

What good news!!! When Jesus comes back He will right every wrong, cleanse us once and for all from our sin, give us new bodies, and there will be no more disease or sickness. His blessings will flow "as far as the curse is found"!

Check out a brief history of the song.

 Here are the other songs! Hope to see you this Sunday!!

Much love,

Jeffrey
