Songs for September 20, 2020

Hi church family!

If I haven't had the opportunity to meet you yet, my name is Jeffrey Hoy and I'm so grateful to be your new director of worship arts at Willow Creek! My wife, Jessie and I are eager to meet you and introduce you to our little kiddos :-) (Jayden and Ansley).

I'm passionate about displaying the truth and beauty of Jesus through leading our people in worship. I believe healthy churches need strong congregational singing and I consider it a great responsibility to lead in songs not only played with musical excellence but most importantly sung with lyrics rooted deeply in the truth of God's Word-- that the Word of Christ would dwell in them richly as they admonish one another through singing (Colossians 3:16).

Therfore every week at Willow Creek it's our heart's desire to encourage the people of God to sing unto the Lord with all their hearts! I love Colossians 3:16 so much because it reminds us that singing to the Lord is one of the main ways we can let the Word dwell in our hearts more richly, AND consequently encourage one another. In other words... when I worship the Lord, it's not just about me, it's about God's family unified together with the same purpose.

With that in mind- every week I will attempt to share the upcoming music with you in this blog. Since it's my desire for the church to sing together, I'd love to give you the songs ahead of time so you can familairize yourself with them and have a chance to really focus on the words before we sing together on Sunday.
